Door handles

With the PIU Design System, any commercially available door handle can be used. The only requirement is a longer mandrel (length of 5 cm). In the case of doors covered with brittle or soft materials, i.e. glass, decorative concrete, sintered quartz or felt, it is advisable to use door handles recommended by manufacturers of a given type of finishing material.

Door closer

A door closer hidden in the door frame and in the door-leaf is a device which, after the door has been opened and left open, makes the door-leaf shut on its own. The system uses adjustable hydraulic valves which close the door in two stages. Initially, the door closes fairly fast only to slow down just before closing completely to avoid a violent collision between the door-leaf and the door frame. The door-leaf is gently pulled towards the door frame. Both stages of the door closing action can be separately and conveniently adjusted, i.e. it can be made faster or slower as wished. In addition, the door-leaf is equipped with an angle limiter (up to 120°). It is a hinge restrictor which protects the door-leaf from being pulled out or prevents it from opening too far and damaging the adjacent wall or other items. It is possible to adjust the closing strength of the door-leaf (force 2-4 according to EN1154), which is especially important in the case of door-leaves with glass panels.

Drop down seal

A drop down deal has been hidden in the aluminum PIU Design door-leaf. As a result, it is completely invisible to the eye when the door is open. The seal serves as a barrier that seals the room off, protecting it from air-flows, odours, light, sounds, dirt, dust, insects and even smoke and fire. In this way, it also improves acoustic insulation (up to 35dB) and thermal insulation in a given room.

Electric strike

Electric strike - an electromechanical device which locks the door until released by its remote release switch. We use electric strikes produced by Assa Abloy with the Profix system, which makes it possible to hide the electric strike in the door frame to make it completely invisible from outside. It ensures enhanced door security and continuity of the seal in the door frame profile at the site of the electric strike, enhancing the visual quality of the door. Two configurations are available: - ordinary – current-closed (i.e. when there is no current, the door is closed) and reversed – current-opened (i.e. when there is no current, the door will open)
